Richard Dien Winfield

Richard Dien Winfield (born April 7, 1950) is a distinguished research professor of philosophy at the University of Georgia, where he has taught since 1982. He has served as president of the Society for Systematic Philosophy, the Hegel Society of America, and the Metaphysical Society of America. Winfield has authored numerous books, book chapters, and journal articles covering a wide range of topics from Hegelian philosophy to philosophy of art, law, economics, and social rights. His notable works include Democracy Unchained (2020), which argues for a federal job guarantee, a key platform in his 2018 and 2020 campaigns for U.S. House and Senate.
Winfield graduated from Yale College in 1972, earned his Magister Artium in philosophy from the University of Heidelberg in 1973, and completed his PhD at Yale University in 1977.

Gregory S. Moss is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he has taught since 2016. He earned his PhD in philosophy at the University of Georgia in 2014, studying Hegel's Science of Logic under Richard Dien Winfield. Moss also completed a Fulbright Research Fellowship on German Idealism at the University of Bonn, focusing on Schelling's influence on Hegel. His research centers on systematic metaphysical and epistemological issues within the Post-Kantian German philosophical tradition. He is an active member of several philosophical societies, including the Hegel Society of America and the Internationale Hegel-Gesellschaft.

His teaching career includes positions at the University of Georgia, Middle East Technical University, CODE University of Berlin, and Leuphana University, where he served as a lecturer. Emre’s research interests span Hegelian philosophy, the Philosophy of Biology, Philosophy of Nature and Mind, and the History of Science. He has published articles in Hegel Bulletin, Cosmos and History, Studia Hegeliana, and Hegel Jahrbuch, and is a member of several philosophical societies, including the Society for Systematic Philosophy, where he currently serves as Secretary.

Nahum Brown
Treasurer Nahum Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy and Religious Studies Department at Chiang Mai University, specializing in 19th-Century Philosophy, particularly Hegel, and Contemporary Continental Philosophy. He is the author of Hegel on Possibility: Dialectics, Contradiction, and Modality (Bloomsbury, 2020) and Hegel’s Actuality Chapter of the Science of Logic: A Commentary (Lexington Books, 2018). Brown has also co-edited two volumes on philosophy of religion and intercultural philosophy. His recent publications include articles in Kritike and Religious Studies, covering topics such as Sartre's bad faith and Schelling’s problem of evil. |
